Arms Control Now

Arms Control Now is the blog of the Arms Control Association, an independent membership organization working to address the threats posed by the world’s most dangerous weapons.  Arms Control Now is a forum where ACA staff and interns provide news and commentary on the latest arms control developments.  The views expressed in Arms Control Now are those of their authors and not necessarily the members of the Arms Control Association or its Board of Directors.

The Arms Control Association

The Arms Control Association (ACA), founded in 1971, is a national nonpartisan membership organization dedicated to promoting public understanding of and support for effective arms control policies. Through its public education and media programs and its magazine, Arms Control Today (ACT), ACA provides policy-makers, the press and the interested public with authoritative information, analysis and commentary on arms control proposals, negotiations and agreements, and related national security issues. In addition to the regular press briefings ACA holds on major arms control developments, the Association’s staff provides commentary and analysis on a broad spectrum of issues for journalists and scholars both in the United States and abroad.  Read more of the Arms Control Association’s work at www.armscontrol.org.

The American people have made it abundantly clear that we are tired of war. To Jaw, Jaw is always better than to War War! (Winston Churchill). The neocons’ rapacious appetite for wars in which most never fight must be checked! Those who would squander America’s blood and treasure, values and credibility for Israel must be checked!

UN endorses Iran nuclear deal with six world power, and 60 senior US national security leaders support Iran deal along with so many more peace-loving people.

At the Saban Forum on Iran Diplomacy during a discussion with President Obama, Mr . Saban asserted, “With the best intentions and all efforts, President Reagan vowed that Pakistan would not go nuclear. Didn’t happen. With the best intentions and all efforts, President Clinton vowed that North Korea won’t go nuclear. Why is the nuclear deal different than any other nuclear deal?”

With the best intentions and all efforts, President Kennedy tried to stop Israel from developing the bomb. Didn’t happen!

The concern that Iran’s civilian nuclear power program will be converted to a weapons program is identical to the situation in Israel in the early 60s before President Kennedy was tragically assassinated (?by Israel) while he was attempting to prevent Israel from converting its civilian nuclear power program into a weapons program with inducements. Israel took the inducements, Hawk missiles, but continued with its nuclear weapons program.

Jack Ruby, (Jacob Rubenstein) murdered Lee Harvey Oswald before he could reveal what he knew about the assassination of President Kennedy. Senator Arlen Specter served on the commission that looked into the assassination of President Kennedy and many questioned his integrity. Many believe that Israel had President Kennedy murdered because President Kennedy was trying to stop Israel from developing the bomb!

This was reinforced when Andrew Adler, owner of ‘Atlanta Jewish Times,’ advocated for U.S. based Mossad agents to take out a president, Obama, deemed unfriendly to Israel in order for the current vice president, Joe Biden. to take his place, and forcefully dictate that the U.S. policy includes its helping the Jewish state obliterate its enemies. Yes, order a hit on a president in order to preserve Israel’s existence.

The notion that America is supposed to stop the Persians from acquiring nuclear weapons capability is absurd since we could not stop Israel from developing the bomb despite giving Israel inducements to stop their endeavor which they pocketed and continued developing nuclear weapons capability. The notion that Israel can have the bomb and Iran can’t is also absurd. Of curse Israel is a theater of the absurd! The Persians have a rich ancient proud culture. Israel was born out of a culture of terrorism! How much more must the American people suffer for Israel’s transgressions?

Assassinating scientist in Iran is a provocation. Speculation is that Israel attempted to provoke Iran into attacking America. Norman Podhoretz, a slithering neocon, attempted to make “The Case for Bombing Iran.” Senator McCain sang, “Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran. While running for president, Hillary Clinton stated that if Iran attacked Israel, we would obliterate them. (I switched from supporting her to supporting Obama after that egregious comment.) We would kill 80 million Iranians for Israel? Sheldon Adelson advocated for the nuking of Iran. Thankfully, my country has ignored these morally reprehensible, war mongering ingrates and in conjunction with the P5+1, my country is acting in a mature, adult manner which will result in peace, not war!

America overthrew Iran’s leader, Mossadeq and replaced him with the Shah in 1953. America also shot down Iranian air flight 655, killing 290 passengers plus the crew. America helped Saddam kill 700,000 Iranians during the Iraq/Iran war and now the insidious neocons are urging America to again attack Iran, a country that is not a threat to America. Unlike Israel, Iran has not attacked its neighbors.

AIPAC has radicalized our congress and turned them into terrorists. AIPAC uses corrosion and intimidation to compel members of congress to engage in terrorist acts such as Operation Cast Lead and Operation Protective Edge in support of the IDF terrorist which has resulted in the deaths of 1400 Palestinians during Operation Cast Lead and 2200 during Operation Protective Edge among whom are hundreds of children. AIPAC is not a lobbying organization, AIPAC is a terrorist GANG!

This ‘Genocide on Gaza’ is comparable to the 9-11 attack on American.

As a child of two former Oak Ridge TN employees, a nephew of, a grand child of OR,TN, and a former employee of Westinghouse Nuclear I was taught early on how to pronounce the word nuclear!

Listening to your remarks on NPR this morning regarding North Korea. Please stop discrediting yourself and your organization by mispronouncing the word nuclear.
